manga i adore! (╥﹏╥)
hover on the pics to see names!
the above are some works i recommend to almost everyone hehe
the first one: bloom into you, has to be the best yuri manga i've ever read in my entire life, i'm quite picky when it comes to romance manga so that says a lot!
now... yoru to umi: the artstyle in this manga is absolutely stunning, unfortunately i don't see that many people talking about it, that's why i always recommend it, it is considered to be yuri, (in the og sense of the word) a bond between 2 highschool girls!
uzumaki, the spiral: i love this manga so so much, it is interesting, creative horror, i doubt you haven't read it, but still read it :3
junji ito's cat diary: i actually own a physical copy of this manga! is a more lighthearted approach to junji ito's work in my opinion, very much recommended. (the cute cat pictures are a plus!)
hellooo welcome to my film corner! something about me is i love japanese cinema! it's sooo my style. in this section i will briefly talk about some films i really enjoyed, some very well known, others not so much? but don't worry, it's nothing niche haha, feel free to check out my letterboxd! :3
some films i like!:
these are some coming-of-age films with teenage themes and female protagonists, by hovering on the posters you can see the tiltes and clicking on them will take you to their letterboxd pages.
one million yen girl: (letterbox description) a 21-year-old girl is released from prison, only to deal with the neighborhood gossip about her and family conflicts. she decides to save one million yen, move to where no one knows her and keep repeating the process.
swing girls: (letterbox description) a tale of delinquent and lazy school girls. in their efforts to cut remedial summer math class, they end up poisoning and replacing the school’s brass band.
linda linda linda: (letterbox description) only three days before their high school festival, guitarist kei, drummer kyoko, and bassist nozomi are forced to recruit a new lead vocalist for their band. they choose korean exchange student son, though her comprehension of japanese is a bit rough! it’s a race against time as the group struggles to learn three songs for the festival’s rock concert—including a classic ’80s song by the japanese punk rock band the blue hearts called “linda linda”.
kakera: a piece of our life: (letterbox description) a college student’s relationship is going nowhere until she meets a bisexual medical artist who makes prosthetic body parts.
my broken mariko: (letterbox description) shiino one day finds out that her best friend mariko has committed suicide. after snatching mariko’s urn from her abusive father, shiino heads to marigaoka cape, a place mariko always wanted to go.
blue: (letterbox description) an introverted schoolgirl falls in love and starts a relationship with one of her classmates. set in a small seaside town in japan.
other cool titles (>。☆) :
honey and clover: (letterbox description) adapted from the popular manga of the same name, director masahiro takada’s coming of age drama follows five hama art college students as they prepare to venture out into the real world on a great voyage of self-discovery.
the taste of tea: (letterbox description) a spell of time in the life of a family in rural tochigi prefecture. yoshiko is not an ordinary housewife, instead working on an animated film project. uncle ayano, a successful music producer, is looking to get his head together after living in tokyo. meanwhile, sachiko is concerned with why she seems to be followed by a giant version of herself. as the lazy days pass by, each member of the family is followed in a series of episodic vignettes.
hana & alice: (letterbox description) two teenage best pals attracted to the same boy end up scrambling his life after he walks into a door and is knocked unconscious.
good morning: (letterbox description) a lighthearted take on director yasujiro ozu's perennial theme of the challenges of inter-generational relationships, good morning tells the story of two young boys who stop speaking in protest after their parents refuse to buy a television set. ozu weaves a wealth of subtle gags through a family portrait as rich as those of his dramatic films, mocking the foibles of the adult world through the eyes of his child protagonists. shot in stunning color and set in a suburb of tokyo where housewives gossip about the neighbors’ new washing machine and unemployed husbands look for work as door-to-door salesmen, this charming comedy refashions ozu’s own silent classic i was born, but . . . to gently satirize consumerism in postwar japan.
all about lily chou-chou: (letterbox description) charts the troubled teenage years of students yūichi hasumi and shūsuke hoshino, exploring the shifting and complex power dynamics of their relationship against the backdrop of yūichi's love for the dreamy and abstract music of pop star lily chou-chou.
love letter: (letterbox description) hiroko attends the memorial service of her fiancé, itsuki fujii, who died in a mountain-climbing incident. although itsuki’s mother says that their old house is gone, hiroko records the address listed under his name in his yearbook and sends him a letter. surprisingly, she receives a reply, and discovers it came from his old classmate, a girl who also happens to be called itsuki fujii.
hello these are my twitter page guidelines, my x account is kind of my sanctuary, i don't post all the time nor i am super active, but even so i always state the following criteria in my carrds and stuff like that in case anyone wants to follow me or is considering doing so.
before you follow request: my account is private and i don't go public often, in fact i don't remember the last time my account was made public :p i just really like privacy i guess. @chocopecas is my main account and my only active one at the moment, aswell as my only contact method for the meantime! i'm not a part of any subtwitter in particular, i just talk about my interests (i post in the languages you see in my profile section, respectively). lastly i wanted to mention that i am far more confortable with natural timeline interactions rather than direct messages, but still feel free to dm me in case you need anything.
don't follow request please: like i mentioned before, i consider my account to be a safe space for me and my close friends, so please refrain from following the account if your intentions are in any way malicious. i would also appreciate getting to know you beforehand, so requests from accounts without any information that almost look like burner accs would most likely be left pending (sorry :c). it is also highly possible that i don't approve of the request if i happen to come across compromising content posted on your account that i consider to be inappropriate (like irl gore, csem (cp), or other repulsive/illegal things).
@chocopecas, 2025.
welcome to my website's about section :p here i will very transparently talk about the making of this site, (as a way of documenting it), the inspirations behind it, creative process, the resources i used, and other things.
why cloverlover...?
if i'm being honest... i like clovers and needed something catchy that rhymed. other possible names were 'cleverclover' which is actually really cool now that i think about it, reason why it stayed as my atabook name.
the rough 'sketch'
the idea for my website's layout first started as an ugly hand-drawn sketch in my actual irl note pad, if you're only browsing neocities for the meantime but you're interested in having a website of your own, this part is crutial.
before anything, an outline is needed, i would recommend doing this first before hopping on the actual coding part, (even basic tutorials, yes), and after you're satisfied, then you could see if what you're looking for is possible and how is it possible.
inspiration
back in 2022 i came across a really cool tumblr blog with the craziest most cutest layout you could think of, it was chocolatety, pinky, just so so cute. unfortunately i could no longer find it, which is sad and still haunts me (T___T), that i'd say is one of my biggest inspirations to this 'cutesey' style.
other HUGE inspirations are the following tumblr (+ sozai website) blogs, i went with a very very similar theme as you can see :3
this is a compilation of different resources used in the making of this website!
photopea.com: i make pixels and graphics here, very similar to photoshop actually.
w3schools.com: basic html tutorials/help and where i coded my site from (it's a funny story heh).
pinterest.com: got my hexcode 'color pallettes' from here, as well as some images.
foollovers.com: this website's style was also inspired by some themes here! (esp the little lace thingy).
my coding process...?
my website is coded by me from scratch, even if i'm taking inspiration from someone else's work i don't just copy and paste their css/html, and you shouldn't either... not cool (unless it's for educational purposes...? idk), if you had to ask me, i don't really care if people copy my work, but i really encourage you to create something that is euniquely yours :3
1. i always start with divs, my whole website is basically divs, that's what i like to use personally, so you could say it's just 'containers' one after another. i assign classes to all of them or what i like to call: their names, as well as some html notes to tell appart the closing div tags and what div they belong to.
2. css. yes, i start with the css right away lol, i need to know how the wrappers and containers will look like with their designated dimensions. i usually set things to have a grey or pink background-color, just so i can see them better hehe, this is the most creative part of all.
3. the actual content. this is where i write and yap. step 3.5 would be styling all of that hehe, so i make sure everything has a class assigned.
4. i determine what will be javascript (and what will not). after everything is almost coming together i think about how i want to make things interactive, i personally prefer to make 'sections' with js, i also use it for music, sometimes videos and so. i assign 'id's to the elements that require it, and finally i steal... cough i mean i browse and borrow some code from back-end devs that kindly post it for educational purposes.
